Future API Features.

Posted on Friday 20 January 2006

Dathan Vance Pattishall, one of the Flickr Devs, has posted the following email to the Flickr API mailing list:

We are talking about adding more API methods, maybe this would be a good thread to start a vote on what API methods flickr is missing, or what additions are desired.

I'll bring API additions up in our next ENG meeting to make a concrete roadmap of when we can get some stuff like this added to our next code releases.

Do you have any cool features that you'd like to see in the API? Join the list now and cast your vote for the chance to get them implemented (or at least on the list).

I see you (and others) have already requested accessing/posting comments via the API. That would be my #1 request.

Yeah, that would be great, i think that's the feature that many people is looking for. Another thing that would be useful, that maybe it's now possible but i can't find the way how, is to get the next and previous photo ID in a set.

I couldn't find your email so hopefully you'll catch this comment: in your installation instruction you say, "The only one you absolutely need is HTTP_Response", but I'm pretty sure you are referring to HTTP_Request. I could find any mention of HTTP_Respose in your code.

That's correct. It was a typo that I thought I had fixed a long time ago. I recently fixed it in the CVS and if it isn't in the latest version, it'll be out in the next one.
